How to Change PPT Author: A Step-by-Step Guide

In today’s digital world, PowerPoint presentations are a common tool for communication, education, and business. However, there may be instances when you need to change the author’s name on a PowerPoint slide. Whether it’s for personal branding, team collaboration, or legal reasons, this guide will walk you through the process of changing the author’s name on a PowerPoint presentation.

Step 1: Open the PowerPoint Presentation

First, open the PowerPoint presentation on which you want to change the author’s name. You can do this by double-clicking on the file or by opening PowerPoint and then opening the file from within the program.

Step 2: Navigate to the Slide Master

To change the author’s name on all slides, you need to modify the Slide Master. To access the Slide Master, click on the “View” tab in the PowerPoint ribbon, and then select “Slide Master” from the menu.

Step 3: Locate the Author’s Name Placeholder

Once you’re in the Slide Master view, you’ll see a series of placeholders representing different elements on your slides, such as title, content, and notes. Look for the placeholder that contains the author’s name. It’s usually labeled “Author’s Name” or something similar.

Step 4: Edit the Author’s Name

With the author’s name placeholder selected, you can now edit the text within it. Simply click on the placeholder, and you’ll be able to type in the new author’s name. Make sure to save your changes before proceeding.

Step 5: Update All Slides

After editing the author’s name, you’ll need to update all slides in your presentation. To do this, click on the “Close Master View” button at the bottom of the Slide Master window. This will take you back to the normal slide view.

Step 6: Save Your Changes

Finally, save your changes to the PowerPoint presentation. You can do this by clicking on the “File” tab in the ribbon, selecting “Save As,” and choosing a location to save your file. Make sure to save it in the same format (e.g., .pptx, .pptm) as the original file.

By following these simple steps, you can easily change the author’s name on a PowerPoint presentation. Whether you’re working on a team project or need to update the author’s name for legal reasons, this guide will help you make the necessary changes in no time.
